About
Most of what I make starts with something I wish existed: a better way to understand a place, organize messy information, remember an experience, or make a complicated system easier to use.
On my own time I build apps and data systems. At work I build what AI needs to hold up inside real products: the context it gets, the tools it can use, the evaluations that tell us whether it works, and the measurement around it.
Away from the screen, I scuba dive, photograph underwater life, cook, and study wine. They keep me close to nature and keep me balanced on both left-brain and right-brain stimulation.
This site is where those threads meet. It is a portfolio, a place for things in progress, and a way for people working on similar problems to find me.
Right now
- Building. UmiLog, MiseKit, and PairPage are my current main iOS apps.
- At work. Staff Data Scientist and AI Enablement Lead at Grow Therapy, working on the context, tools, evaluations, and measurement around AI products alongside standard marketplace data science and ML.
- Underwater. Scuba diving, and underwater and topside photography. Time underwater inspires my projects, UmiLog and the photo map on this site among them.
- At the table. Cooking tasting menus at home, training blind tasting as I go.
